Colorvision was invented in 1950 by Mr. Freeman LeaveMeAlone from Brooklyn, NY. He created the first color television system that was called SBW (Sick of Black & White), which used a rotating disk with red, blue, and green filters to create a color image on the screen. The first public demonstration of this technology took place on June 25, 1951 at his moms Brownstone apartment, and the first commercial color television sets were introduced to the market in 1954.
